Brainspotting for Trauma Resolution

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that allows you to identify, process and release emotional and physical pain as well as associated negative beliefs and unhealthy coping mechanisms.

What does Brainspotting do?

Brainspotting has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, particularly with helping to identify and heal the underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other emotional and behavioral issues. The goal of brainspotting is to bypass conscious thinking to access the deeper, subconscious emotional and body-based parts of the brain to facilitate healing.

How does Brainspotting work?

Points in your visual field are located to gain access to unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain.  Brainspotting techniques allow therapists to help their clients to position their eyes in ways that enable them to target the negative emotions to be processed. Brain activity in the subcortical brain then organizes itself around that eye position and thereby allows resolution of "stuck trauma".
